Message from Library Director Debra Rhodes Gibson

Celebrate Earth Day @ SJCPLS
"The beauty and charm of the wilderness are his for the asking, for the edges of the wilderness lie close beside the beaten roads of the present travel." - President Theodore Roosevelt.

America is vast, varied, and brimming with natural beauty—millions of acres of volcanoes, canyons, geysers, mountains, glaciers, deserts, wetlands, and so much more. In celebration of all the flora and fauna that make up our nation, we offer you a reading list with nonfiction titles about the history and memorable accounts of those who explored and worked in our national and state parks.
